JD McMullan

John David McMullan is a singer/songwriter and arranger/ producer who lived in College Grove, Tennessee near Nashville before moving to Georgia.  After graduating from Belmont University with a BA in Commercial Music/Composition and Arranging, he founded One Hope Music, a Publishing company and studio, and has written several songs that have made a mark in the music industry.  He collaborated with many Christian writers from back in the 80’s and early 90’s, and co-wrote the title cut for Alicia Williamson’s album There Is a Hope, which was nominated for a Dove Award in 1996.

For 16 years, JD was a part of the New Song Worship Community teams as vocalist or instrumentalist and a member of the 20-voice NewSong Celebration Singers involved with recording projects. He also is responsible for composing and arranging many of the audio tracks from which Clarksville-based ministry of Fountain Gate Artists perform an annual Channel 5 Christmas Broadcast Special since its founding in 2000.

JD also has played trumpet professionally in various Nashville based bands such as The Chill Band, the 1969 Band, Syndicate of Soul, Merchants of Cool and 5 Points Swing bands. Moving to Commerce, Georgia in 2018 to be closer to family brought opportunities to play in Classic City Concert Band, Dixie Dawgs, Big Band Athens, and RiffNotes.
